Why local businesses
Independent owners are the bookkeeper, the marketer and the person doing the work, often all in the same day. Big chains have teams and software keeping AI up to date about them. The shop down the street doesn’t.
That leaves little time for websites, listings and whatever AI is doing this month. When we checked independent businesses in San Diego, most weren’t named when we asked AI for the best in their category and city, even ones with loyal customers and five-star reviews.

Our view on AI
We’d rather small businesses help shape that than be left out of it. Big brands have teams and software for this. The salon down the street doesn’t, and shouldn’t need one. We use AI to do the heavy lifting so good businesses get a fair shot, and we hold ourselves to a few rules while we do it.
